Discovery of magnificent "cabotes" in Nantoux

The recent purchase of some land that we destine to a new vineyard in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune has revealed several vernacular Burgundian treasures.

When the opportunity rose to purchase several hectares of vines in Nantoux, we didn't hesitate.

Our objective is of course to plant Chardonnay there to experience the subtleties of this very ancient terroir.
This land revealed as well some vernacular treasures in the shape of vine cabotes. These little huts were in the past shelters for vinegrowers, protecting them from the weather. They are built in dry stones, generally issued from soil's preparation work by vinegrowers centuries ago. Those from Nantoux will be restaured and will probably become a very enjoyable picnic destination.
