Not a fat style but not austere either, in spite of a trace of greenness on the back. (Incidentally, Leflaive's Bourgogne Blanc showed enticing musky soft citrus fruit and excellent breadth for its appellation.)” 88-90

"Here the somewhat more elegant nose is composed of similar aromatics as that of the Bourgogne but there is better energy and delineation to the medium-bodied flavors that possess solid depth and length plus fine underlying tension on the lingering and balanced finish. A lovely if not truly distinguished villages."

Pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of peach nectar and candied fruits. Sweet, round, broad and fruity, building nicely toward the back. A bit aggressive but holds its shape nicely. Not especially delineated or gripping but finishes with good persistence. 87 points.

Fractionally paler colour of green gold. White fruits on the nose with a hint of walnut, but subtle and mineral too. The palate is creamy and ripe, full flavoured, almost liquorous, but with rich intensity and fine length. Drink in 2005.

      Puligny-Montrachet
Revealing fresh white fruits and herbs in the nose, the 2003 Puligny-Montrachet (white, 88-90) is another sensual, sexy wine. Poached pears, spices, notes of butter, and a powerful underlying minerality are found in its medium-bodied character. In addition, its long, expressive finish displays notce of toasted nuts-infused with lemon drops. Projected maturity : now-2011.

The Puligny-Montrachet 2001 is tight, with notes of quartz and fresh lemon aromas. This slightly robust wine is pure, but it needs to flesh out to deserve the high bracket of the mark I've given it for the moment. For drinking in 2-3 years. 82-85.

The satin texture yields to the touch, like the press of a finger on a lover's belly. It's ready to enjoy over the next four to six years, while the rest of the domaine's 2000 vintage develops in the cellar." 90

Floral/herbal nose, with an offputting chlorine-like note. Good precision of flavor and some density on the palate. Seems quite rich for the vintage. Minerally, slightly dry finish. Would have merited a fairly high score except for the off aroma.
